Teach your students Conflict Resolution with the three choices they have in responding to both fair and unfair criticism… HOT, COLD, and COOL!

Criticism can really hurt. Even mature adults recoil at the thought of being criticized by our peers or loved ones. Criticism can cause resentment, misunderstanding and social withdrawal. Knowing how to cope with criticism will help your students improve their performance while maintaining their self-confidence.

BeCool teaches students about the three basic ways we respond to criticism: Aggressively (HOT), Passively (COLD) or Assertively (COOL). In each of the video scenarios, children are challenged by a difficult person or situation. Your students will watch as their video peers hesitate and then model three different ways to respond to conflict: Giving Up (COLD), Blowing Up (HOT) or Staying in Control (COOL).

With this module, you will define criticism for students, help them to distinguish valid and invalid forms of criticism and understand why people criticize. This 4-part BeCool module presents to your students the opportunity to observe real-life people in real-life situations coping with criticism. They will see in each of the vignettes how a bad start with either a COLD or HOT response gets them nowhere. They will also see examples of several successful COOL responses and will have follow-up activities to practice them.

The BeCool Paradigm is research based and truly works.

My students were glued to the screen. Love Stanfield’s humor. This is the way to teach social skills.

Using Humor to Teach Social Skills

Humor = Retention

We believe you learn best when you laugh. By making the classroom experience more comfortable and enjoyable, humor can make teaching and learning more effective, especially for the K12 segment. At Stanfield, we use humor as an integral part of our curricula.

If you as a speaker don’t help your audience to remember your lessons, then you’re wasting everyone’s time. Humor… can help accomplish that needed retention…
